About

This is my brief biography, a little history of why I am and what I am.

I was born on a farm on Hayling Island, Hampshire, UK. My parents were wearing straw hats and the goats were merrily chewing stalks of grass. But despite this rural tranquillity, my family had managed to pry themselves away from the composting and were up to date with the technological advances of the era

This was lucky for me as I had an interest in . and talent for . playing with electrical devices. I took apart everything I could lay my hands on; old tape recorders, toy cars, even my parents’ computer. Miraculously, I managed to avoid harming myself or any cute fluffy animals in the process. Unscathed and inspired by my old man’s dabbling in software development (he used to make short computer games for my sister and I to play), I moved onto messing around with ‘code

Some years later I decided it was time to take my hobby a little more seriously and so, in 2001, Clear Cut Designs was born! My company offered: web design and construction; graphics, logo design and photo enhancement; website optimisation and consultancy. Although the company was proving successful, I didn’t think it was time to give up my day job.

However, in a bid to get experience in my chosen field, I took a job as .Junior Application Developer. at Airborne Interactive in 2005. This involved creating hi-end seat-back entertainment systems for commercial passenger airlines. I was involved in various aspects of design, customer relations, staff training and software creation and had the privilege of working with some talented people at large companies such as Panasonic. I also gained the opportunity to brag to my friends about all the airlines I have worked on whenever I visit the airport. It doesn’t really impress them but it makes me feel good!

A year later I had learnt a lot, but was ready to move on. I resigned from Airborne and took a higher paying job with more responsibility at The Really Helpful IT Company. As their web designer and developer I took jobs from the first stages of consultancy, through drawing up quotes and timescales, to creating and ensuring payment for the final product. I did a lot of in-house staff training, drawing on my experience of running a web design company, and created software for use at the company on a daily basis.

Sadly I wasn’t happy there, so I had to throw the towel in. Meanwhile, Clear Cut Designs had merged with Webkore Sever, creating LQD Internet. We had not been running long, but work was coming in quickly, so I decided to take the plunge and follow my life-long dream of being a millionaire, err I mean business entrepreneur. I quit my job and started running LQD full time.

With the current “economic crisis” I have decided to leave the running of LQD Internet on the back burner for the time being. Why have i done this you might ask? Well a lot of small business (which my web services are aimed at) at currently suffering from huge financial problems; which in turn becomes my financial problem. Therefore i have decided to once again seek full time employment with a much larger organisation, in comes Bluhalo. Bluhalo is a leading bespoke website design and build agency based in Farnborough, Hampshire. They build some of the best websites around and have a constantly evolving client base, making this one of the most interesting jobs I’ve ever had. Bluhalo is where I want LQD Internet to be in the not so distant future, working with such clients as Tottenham Hotspur and Hi-Tec.

So do not fear LQD Internet is not going out of business, i have simply chosen to support the continued running and development of the business by working twice as hard!! Our full service compliment is still available at www.lqdinternet.com and www.clearcutdesigns.co.uk.

That is my story so far, let’s hope I am rich soon! To see a summary of my previous and current work please click here.
